What’s open, what’s closed
| Program | Status for a heat pump |
|---|---|
| LogisVert (Hydro-Québec) | Open |
| Chauffez vert (Québec) | Closed March 31, 2026 |
| Oil to Heat Pump Affordability (Canada) | No new applications since July 31, 2026 |
| Rénoclimat, heating component (Québec) | Stopped funding heating on May 1, 2024 |
Several websites still add LogisVert and Rénoclimat together (“up to $11,950”). For the heat pump itself, only LogisVert applies. Rénoclimat can still help with other work in the same house, such as insulation or a heat recovery ventilator.
How LogisVert is calculated
The rebate depends on the heat pump’s heating capacity measured at −8 °C:
- $50 per 1,000 BTU/h for an ENERGY STAR model;
- $120 per 1,000 BTU/h for an ENERGY STAR cold-climate model.
A cold-climate unit delivering 18,000 BTU/h at −8 °C earns $2,160; a standard ENERGY STAR unit delivering 14,000 BTU/h earns $700. The number in the model name is not the one that counts. Look up the exact figure in Hydro-Québec’s eligible heat pump list or use our rebate calculator.
Who qualifies
Your home must be in Québec, residential, finished, habitable year-round, and supplied by Hydro-Québec, an off-grid network, or a municipal or cooperative network. Customers of Hydro-Sherbrooke, Hydro-Magog and Hydro-Coaticook are eligible. Houses, cottages habitable year-round, condos and multiplexes qualify.
You must be the owner: for a heat pump, the rebate is paid to the owner.
The equipment must be new, ENERGY STAR certified, bought in Québec (in store, or online from a business with a Québec address), on the eligible list, with an outdoor unit of at least 12,000 BTU/h cooling capacity. Air-to-air ductless and central systems qualify.
The installer must be registered with the Québec business registry, hold the appropriate RBQ licence and be a member of their trade corporation.
What doesn’t qualify
- indoor units installed outside the insulated envelope, such as in the attic;
- replacing a single coil or a single indoor or outdoor unit;
- replacements covered by a warranty or insurance;
- a central heat pump in a home that already has a geothermal system.
Applying, step by step
The portal at logisvert.ca is in French only. Have these ready:
- Proof of ownership: your municipal tax bill or the first page of your deed. The name on the invoice must match.
- The paid invoice, showing the invoice number and date, installation date, your name and the installation address, the contractor’s name, GST and QST numbers and RBQ licence number, a description of the product and work, the AHRI or ENERGY STAR number, and the cost.
- A clear photo of the outdoor unit’s nameplate showing the model and serial number.
Apply within 9 months of installation. Processing takes 10 to 12 weeks once the file is complete. If you also insulate your attic and file both measures together within those 9 months, a 5% bonus applies.
